As one year draws to a close and another waits just ahead, Pastor Jeff leads us through a thoughtful and pastoral moment of closure.

God has woven seasons into the very fabric of creation. Days and nights, winters and summers, beginnings and endings. And just as the year has carried highs and lows, achievements and disappointments, rest and weariness, it deserves to be brought gently and intentionally to a close. Using the image of climbing a mountain, Pastor Jeff reflects on how a year unfolds. There are moments of purpose and momentum, unexpected dangers, beautiful rest stops, breathtaking summits, false peaks, and sometimes long, exhausting descents.

Looking to the life of Jesus, we see that even He experienced the full range of the human journey. And yet, how He finished shows us how to find grace for our own year’s end. From the cross, Jesus models four powerful practices for closing well: forgiving everyone of everything, continuing to do good right to the end, making space for honest lament, and finally entrusting everything into the hands of the Father.

This message creates space to reflect honestly on what 2025 has held. The joy and the pain. The things we celebrate and the things we still carry. It is an invitation to release regret, disappointment, grief, and unfinished business, and to receive God’s grace afresh through forgiveness, prayer, and communion.

As we say goodbye to 2025, this is a moment to let go, to breathe out, and to trust that God holds every part of the year that was. Finished. Entrusted. Covered by grace.
