Christmas is more than a moment of nostalgia or celebration. It marks the day history changed forever. This year, Pastor Jeff invites us to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas by asking a simple but profound question: what does it actually mean to have a Saviour?
Hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth, the prophets foretold a light breaking into darkness. Isaiah spoke of hope shining where despair had settled, and on that holy night in Bethlehem, those promises came alive. Heaven erupted with joy as angels declared peace on earth, because God Himself had come near. The Word became flesh and made His home among us. Emmanuel, God with us.
Christmas is God’s great endorsement of humanity. In Jesus, God stepped into our limitations, our weariness, and our brokenness, not to stand at a distance but to dwell with us. This is the foundation of an indestructible joy, a joy that runs deeper than happiness and remains steady even in seasons of sorrow, uncertainty, and loss.
Drawing from Psalm 63, Pastor Jeff shows how this joy is discovered and sustained. Like a hidden stream flowing beneath the surface, the life of Christ within us becomes a source that never runs dry. When we gaze on God, praise Him, cling to Him, and allow Him to truly satisfy us, joy begins to rise from the inside out.
This is the gift of Christmas. Christ in us, the hope of glory. A joy worth singing about, today and always.
