This week Col shared a powerful Advent message celebrating the unchanging, unmeasurable love of God. At the heart of the message was the reminder that God does not merely love in degrees or limits. God is love. His love is His very nature, steady, dependable, and incorruptible.

Drawing from John 3:16 and the Indestructible Joy devotional, we were invited to reconsider how we understand God’s love. Rather than asking how much God loves us, Scripture shows us how God loves us. He demonstrated His love by giving His Son. This was not motivated by our worthiness or performance, but by who God is.

Because we are made in God’s image, every person carries a capacity to love. Yet human love is often shaped by experience, hurt, and limitation. God’s love is different. It is not fragile, conditional, or temporary. It is perfect and unchanging, and it meets us exactly where we are.

Col painted a beautiful picture of Christmas as a season of exchange. Jesus is God’s gift to us, wrapped in grace. And remarkably, we are God’s gift to Jesus, drawn by the Father and welcomed into eternal life. This is the heart of the gospel and the source of indestructible joy.

As we continue through Advent, we are invited to respond to this love, to let go of distorted views of love shaped by human experience, and to receive the truth of who God is. His love is for you, personal, enduring, and available today.
