This week, we welcomed guest speaker Pastor Mel Marshall from C3 Watson, who encouraged us to grow in godliness through 2 Peter 1.

Mel took us into the life of King David, a man described as being after God's own heart. David's life was far from perfect, but it reveals something important about godliness. He cultivated a heart that was sensitive to God, sought His guidance and chose integrity even when nobody was watching. And when David failed, he had the humility to acknowledge what he had done, repent and return to God.

Godliness is measured by the direction of our hearts. Are we willing to listen when God speaks, surrender what He asks us to lay down and allow Him to change us? Even when we get things wrong, His grace invites us to come back into close relationship with Him.

Pastor Mel encouraged us to recognise the growth God has already brought about in our lives and to keep pursuing Him with hearts that are open, humble and surrendered. We can grow because His power is already at work within us, and His love is always drawing us closer.
