There is a deep thirst in every human heart. A longing for purpose, identity, hope, and something that truly satisfies. This week, Col continued our journey through the Gospel of John in John 7, reminding us that Jesus never intended for us to simply survive life. He came so that we might have life in abundance.
During the Feast of Tabernacles, as water ceremonies were taking place and people remembered God’s provision through the generations, Jesus stood and made a bold declaration: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” Not only does Jesus satisfy our deepest thirst, but rivers of living water begin to flow out from our lives for the benefit of others.
Col reminded us that our identity is no longer based in our past, our failures, or our own limitations. We are the disciples whom Jesus loves. And through the power of the Holy Spirit, God desires to fill us with more than enough, so that His life, hope, and power overflow into the lives around us.
Jesus has more for us. More life. More purpose. More of His Spirit at work within us. As we come to Him and continue drinking deeply, He transforms us into people who carry His living water wherever we go.
