We live in a world overflowing with information, opinions, and voices competing for our trust. This week, Pastor Jeff invited us to slow down and ask a vital question: who do you trust, and how do you recognise truth in a digital age?

Drawing from Jesus’ conversation with Pilate and His temptation in the wilderness, we were reminded that the question of truth is not new. Competing voices have always existed. What has changed is the volume, speed, and accessibility of those voices. Technology offers incredible opportunity, but it also presents real challenges for our humanity, our faith, and our ability to discern what is truly good.

Pastor Jeff explored the pressures shaping our world today, from information overload and continual marketing to the rise of generative and companion AI. In the midst of this, Scripture offers a steady anchor. Jesus responds to temptation not with shortcuts or clever arguments, but with the Word of God. He listens to the true voice and refuses every counterfeit.

Truth, we were reminded, is not just a concept or a collection of facts. Truth is a person. Jesus Himself declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” When we know Him and are grounded in His word, we gain clarity, freedom, and discernment. Living in the real thing helps us recognise the fakes.

The invitation for us is practical and personal. To return to Scripture, to seek wisdom from trusted people, to practise discernment, and to create space to hear God’s voice clearly. As we position ourselves in the truth of Jesus, we are formed into people who can flourish faithfully in a digital world without losing our humanity.
