As we launch into a new year together, Pastor Jeff shared the heart and vision for Laneway Church in 2026 with a simple but powerful word: flourish. Drawing from Psalm 92, we were reminded that God’s desire for His people is not just survival, but growth, strength, and fruitfulness in every season of life.
To flourish is to be planted. Transplanted into the house of God, rooted in His kingdom, and nourished by His presence. When we are planted in Him, we grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon and remain vital and fruitful, no matter our age, background, or season. Flourishing is personal, but it is never private. God grows us so that others can grow too.
Pastor Jeff revisited the vision and pillars that shape who we are as a church and how we live out our faith together. We flourish through biblical wisdom, not just by knowing Scripture, but by encountering Jesus through His word and living it out daily. We flourish in vibrant community, belonging together as God’s family across generations and cultures. We flourish in the presence of the Holy Spirit, where God meets us, guides us, comforts us, and transforms us. And we flourish through blessing beyond, living generously so that others may know Jesus and experience His love.
This vision sets the direction for the year ahead. As we make room for people to be planted, to grow, and to flourish, we are also invited to take our place in the life of the church. To belong, to serve, and to be part of what God is doing in our city and beyond.
As we step into 2026, our prayer is simple. That we would be a church where people flourish in God’s house, and where life flows beyond us to bless the world around us.
