Pastor Rowe opened the year by reminding us that prayer is not just a spiritual discipline but a powerful way God invites His people to partner with Him in changing the world.

Prayer allows us to bring what weighs on us before God. Our fears, hopes, questions, and longings are lifted to Him as we speak the name of Jesus over situations that feel heavy or beyond our control. In prayer, we are not powerless observers but participants in what God is doing.

We were reminded that prayer often begins with a burden. God stirs our hearts for people, places, and situations, sometimes without giving us the full picture. Yet our prayers matter. God hears them and uses them as part of His plan to bring healing, salvation, and restoration to our world.

The power of prayer does not come from our words or our confidence, but from who we belong to. Through Jesus, we are made right with God, and through the Holy Spirit, we are given help when we do not know how to pray. Even in silence, God is at work.

As we start this year, we are invited to make prayer our foundation. In ordinary moments and faithful habits, God meets us, leads us, and works through us to bring change to the world.
