This week, our guest preacher Pastor Dave Barter from C3 New Hope led us into John 3, where we meet Nicodemus, a respected religious leader who came to Jesus at night, wanting to understand more about who He was. In that conversation, Jesus spoke a truth that still challenges us today. No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.

Nicodemus believed that being a good person and following the rules would be enough. But Jesus pointed him to something deeper. A new life does not come from effort or behaviour, but from surrender. Being born again is about a transformed heart and a personal relationship with God, not simply knowledge about Him.

We were reminded that God’s love is not earned. It is given freely. John 3:16 declares that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life. This invitation is open to everyone, no matter their past or their questions.

Following Jesus is not about having everything figured out. It is about surrendering our hearts, trusting Him with our lives, and allowing Him to lead us forward one step at a time.
