Easter Sunday is the turning point of the story. The day when darkness gave way to light, and death gave way to life!
This week, Pastor Jeff took us to the opening words of John 1, reminding us that Jesus did not begin at the manger or even at the cross. He was there in the beginning. The Word who created all things stepped into our world, bringing life and light to humanity. And no matter how dark things may seem, the light still shines, and the darkness has not overcome it.
We were reminded that the resurrection is not just a moment in history. It is the declaration that Jesus has conquered sin and death and opened the way to new life for all who believe. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15, Christ was raised from the dead as the first of a great harvest. Because He lives, we too have the promise of resurrection, transformation, and eternity with Him.
This is the hope at the centre of Easter. Jesus knows us, cares for us, and invites us into a relationship with Him. To all who receive Him, He gives the right to become children of God. The resurrection assures us that death does not have the final word. Victory belongs to Christ.
He is risen. And because He lives, we have life.
